Ceremonies
So far the only true ceremony, at least in Stream Pack, is the challenge ritual. Challenges are issued by dogs wishing to gain a higher rank, settle an intractable dispute, or when seeking to join a Pack. The Pack leader must approve the challenge before it can begin, and the pack's deputy or Beta will lay out the rules and consequences for the fight. If the dogs involved in the fight agree to the given terms, the deputy/Beta will enjoin his or her packmates to fight fair, calling on the Sky Dogs to look with favor on the battle and asking the Spirit Dogs to approve its outcome:
"May the Sky Dogs look with favor on your combat! May your fight be fair, and may the outcome be approved by the Spirit Dogs. When the battle is done, we all remain Packmates, and we all shall protect the Pack!"
