Ranks
Below the alpha and beta dogs, ranks are separate from positions. Several dogs can share the same rank. A dog can move up and down in rank for several reasons, including a lower-ranking dog issuing a challenge to one of higher rank. Pups, Mother Dogs, and Seers are outside of the rank system. Tenderfoots have a parallel rank system amongst each other, but are always subordinate to all adult dogs, except sometimes for the Omega. These ranks are not as strictly enforced as in a wolf pack (except in Fire Pack, for now), but observance will help diffuse tension and reduce conflicts among pack members.
Alpha - leader
Beta - second in command
Gamma - senior hunters, may offer advice or suggestions to the alpha and beta, lead minor hunts and patrols
Delta - younger or less experienced hunters, the 'footsoldiers' of the pack
Epsilon - newly-graduated hunters or dogs with some sort of weakness that prevents them from advancing in rank; may often act as scouts, pup-sitters, or den-guards.
Omega - lowest ranking dog in the pack. See above for the role of the Omega.
